Funding a contract deposits tokens into a Claim (escrow) contract, topping up the on-chain balance that stakeholders claim from as their tokens unlock.
Not enabled by default. Funding a contract directly is a feature-flagged capability that’s turned on per project, so it may not be available for you. If you don’t see a Fund button on your Claim contract, contact your Magna representative to have it enabled.
Fund and Defund apply to Claim contracts only — Direct Transfer contracts have no escrow to fund, and are distributed per unlock from the allocations flow instead (see How To Fund Airdrops).
This is different from Start & Fund, which funds specific allocations. Funding a contract tops up the contract’s balance directly. See How To Fund Allocations for the allocation-level flow.

Fund a contract

  1. Go to Settings → Token Distribution → Smart Contracts and select the token.
  2. On the Claim contract’s card, click Fund.
  3. In the Fund Smart Contract dialog, enter the Amount of tokens to deposit.
  4. Click Create.
Fund Smart Contract dialog with an Amount field

The Fund Smart Contract dialog. Enter the amount of tokens to deposit into the contract.

Magna prepares the funding transaction(s) and takes you to the transaction details.

Sign the funding transaction

Go to the Transactions tab and sign the transactions in this order:
  1. Approve Transfer — grants the contract permission to move the tokens. (EVM chains only; Solana and Move contracts skip this step.)
  2. Fund — deposits the tokens into the contract.
Once the Fund transaction confirms on-chain, the contract’s Balance updates and the Funded till indicator reflects how far the current balance covers upcoming unlocks.
If partial funding is enabled for your project, funding the contract directly will block the partial funding flow for that contract. The dialog warns you before you proceed.
The contract card shows the current Balance (with a refresh button) and a Funded till indicator. If it warns that the contract is underfunded, fund it again to cover upcoming unlocks.
